Geoffrey Collins Matoga, my young Malawi friend with unlimited potential. Here you were standing on the Univ. of Malawi campus in 1966 and then at Disneyworld while visiting me in 1972 while on break from studies in the UK. How are you pictured today?
I hear of a Bishop Geoffrey Matoga in Blantyre. He is a former professor of physics at the Univ. of Malawi and now, apparently, a prominent spokesman on national issues. My Geoff was certainly intelligent enough, a quiet person but with courage to explore new frontiers. Could they be the same person?
I would like to hear from Geoffrey Matoga. Please tell me the good things about your beautiful, gentle land. The scarce news from Malawi today is mostly bad: disease, famine, poverty, deterioration and corruption. Madonna's activities there is the only news close to being positive.
